No power steering at High RPM

Hello, thanks for taking your time off to read this. As the title says, my power steering is cutting off at 4K+. It literally just dies and the steering locks up for about 5 seconds and then returns to normal. 5 seconds is enough time for me to understeer into a tree so i'll appreciate any feedback lol. Fluid seems to be okay and turning the wheel lock to lock doesnt help.

You have 2 parts to consider. The rack & pinion and the power steering pump. The pump would be the one that is rpm sensitive. As the pump spins faster with the engine rpm, it creates more pressure. There is a pressure relief valve built into the pump that is probably messing up.

Thank you, I will look it getting the power steering pump first as that may be less expensive.
