I have 02 Maxima with 140k, couple months ago I noticed that the motor started making a ticking noise , not to be confused with knocking , sounds like a ticking lifter and seems to be coming from the exhaust side of the manifold goes along with the rpms of the car and you can clearly hear it bouncing off other cars or when I'm going through a drive through, it's so annoying just want to fix it already, I have done research online and found out that these engines develop a gap between the bucket lifters and cams , I know we have solid buckets vs the 01 Maxima's which has the shim design ...has anyone had this problem before with their 5.5 gen and how did you fix it ? Any input would be greatly appreciated
