19's and 20's:
-Really hurt performance
-Make ride alot rougher
-Tires for these size rims are EXPENSIVE! Could be like $300 a tire, and the treadlife is very short. Think about it.
The positives are:
-SWEET looking
-Turns heads
Most people consider 17's a good mix of looks/performance.

I would say clear of 20" rims
19" is as far as you should go but you are going to be sacrificing a lot as already mentioned. I would recomend you go with 18" rims and like a 225/40/18" tire or 235/45/18" tire. If the rims you choose are nice rims yo will still get stares and they are a lot cheaper.

Another guy said go with the coil-overs.... I totally agree, get coil-overs. The ride will be the same if you used drop-springs, but you can definitely get a better look, and control, with the coil-overs. If you get wider rims and tires you might have to shave a little off the back fenders to get that tucked look.
I will be droping the $$ on 19's or 20's this summer too and one thing that kills me is when I see guys with nice big wheels and they didn't drop the car. They look like they are driving a truck... ha ha. Good luck on the wheels dood.
Hey 'transportchef' are you from around DC?
