VQ35HR fwd swap tps sensor wiring 5.7 gen

First time poster long time reader,

So I am currently in the middle of swapping an HR motor from a 7th gen Maxima into my 5th gen and came across the throttle body harness swap and I couldn't find anything about it via searching besides buying an adapter online so I thought I'd share how I soldered mine DIY.

Below are some pictures I attached to show some diagrams, also what each wire from each harness, its color, the year of the car and the wire's function. (sorry about the weird layout, was using software I wasn't familiar with)

The first picture on the top left has information for both cars, 2002 on the left, 2010 on the right. the rest are the diagrams to be sure they are connected correctly.

Hope this helps someone in their swap

How come you guys are not using the PNP harness you get with the HR Swap Kit?

B/c it's a waste of money. You only need the pigtails and inverter (and hopefully the cam sensor plugs are on the engine). The rest is fluff.

Correct, I was able to find wiring diagrams and wire up the throttle body no problem at all, just matching wires. Also i found inverters on amazon for about 12 bucks for 2, that does the same job as the inverter you get with the pricey kit.

Nice way to save money to put on other things for your build (:

How did those inverters work out for you? Care to share a link?

They were drok 12v to 5v adapters on Amazon, they work great for keeping the voltage down where it needs to be.

That doesn't do anything, it's a VRM, which is useless. We have a 5V source on the car. The cam signal needs inverted.

I'm also seperately using a signal inverter chip which will reverse voltage pattern from the new sensor to the old ecu. The 5v thing is just so I can use the existing 12v cam sensor power wire.

Here's the sensor when something metal is on it, when it's triggered.
This is the sensor without anything touching it.
This is the crude transistor I have inverting the signal for testing to see how effective it was. I'm going to redo this, put it on a circuit board type platform and then isolate it from everything using liquid tape and electrical tape.

So what inverter chip did you use?

It was a hex inverter chip i got at frys.

pin 14 gets 5v power and pin 7 goes to ground just like the kit you purchace.

Then to invert it you send the signal coming from the sensor wire to one of the ODD pins, and then tap its respective output pin to the ECU side wire. It uses a simple logic gate to invert the signal. (:
