New Mass Flow sensor = Limp mode?

I picked up a new (Duralast) mass flow sensor today. I installed it, let the car warm up and gave it some revs. The car was in limp mode, it wouldn't go over 2200rpm. Did I miss a learning procedure or something like that?

I ended up cleaning the old sensor with CRC Electronic Cleaner, re-installing in and my stalling issue went away. So problem fixed, for now...

I still would like to get a new mass flow sensor, any recommendations on where to pick up one that wont put the car into limp mode?

Any where but Vato Zone.

Only the finest in Chinese auto parts sold there. Quality control is non-existent.

I grab OEM units from the Pick N Pull salvage yards, clean them up and use them.

Ha, I tend to agree with you Vintage Dave!

Question, do I need to preform the: "Idle Air Volume Learning (Throttle Position Learning)"?

Sensor is bad/junk quality and it went super lean, so ECU went into safe mode. Go to junkyard and swipe every 00-03 maf.

You said you put the old one back in, and it runs just fine. I'm not sure that I understand why you feel that you need a new mass air flow sensor if you say the car is fixed?

Yes, at RockAuto. Here is the OEM part for 2000 Maxima: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...359222&jsn=415
BTW, you didn't bother to tell us what year/model your car is ............. so just adjust accordingly.
