Bosal vs Walker interchangeable

I have bosal resonator and muffler. Need to replace resonator.

I ordered the same bosal part number I used last time and there is no way I can see how it will fit. Its longer and has more bends. I doubt it would have been totally retooled. I believe it is marked incorrectly. If I order another one I could have the same issue.

If I go with walker instead, will it fit right in with my stock parts and bosal rear muffler?

Anyone know this for fact?

Went ahead and ordered the walker resonator. Figured it must fit in because if the system was all stock and only this was replaced it should slip in.

Good thing I didn't paint the new part before double checking the fit !!!!!!!!

Measure twice. Cut once. Dry fit twice. Paint once. ☺

I didn't reply because I didnt know 100%, BUT I know others that have ordered Walker and other than it arriving without a box in some cases, and the welds looking like stick welds from an apprentice, they fit and work well

You should be fine

Ok. Well the Bosal came with no box and doesn't fit so it can't be much worse....I guess...

And here we have the Bosal with its correct part number but wrong part and the Walker which appears it will fit nicely.

Look at the differences in shipping wrap...or lack....these are exactly how they came from Rocky.

When you originally posted, my first thought was you got a 4th gen pipe. Looking at the two side by side, that seems to be the case. Unfortunately, many parts are listed incorrectly. Sometimes they confuse the build date with model year. I have noticed this often when looking for parts for my 99.

Can you send the wrong one back?

Yes. Sending it back. Its their error.

The part is mis labeled. The part number is correct and what I wanted and would have been fine if the proper part was tagged.

So the flange upstream from my new resonator install is rusted enough that I cant make a good solid seal with the flat gasket. Air leaks out, as was the issue prior to my new part.

I worked on it some more today and wondering about switching to the same crush gasket I used at the rear muffler connection since the surface closer to the pipe is good.

The lower portion of the flange is the issue and so would the crush work better in this case since it will crush down right next to the pipe?

Does it really matter which route I take? Crush vs flat gasket? Why the difference?

Thanks.
