2000 Nissan Maxima Stalling problems.

i have a 2000 Nissan Maxima and I was driving and everything was fine for about 10 minutes and then it stalled. The tachometer was going between 1 and 2 when it kept going lower and cut off. I let it sit a couple minutes and it started right up with no check engine soon light. I made it down the street and after 3 more intersection it cut off in the middle of the intersection and right before it stalled it was doing the same going between 1 and 2. I got it pushed into a parking lot. And now it cranks fine but the check engine light is on. I’m probably going to have it towed home so I don’t have a repeat of it stalling a little way down the road. What could be going on and what should I look at first? Thanks.

Well, the car is trying to tell you what's wrong - get yourself an inexpensive ODBC code reader (such as this one:
Amazon Amazon
) and read the code! There is no point in asking for help without additional input. Based on the symptoms you described, the potential reasons are many: fuel delivery problems, bad MAF, blown ENG CONT fuse, bad camshaft sensor, or NATS security issues.

I'd go with the bad camshaft sensor/s. Happened to my '98 max, car kept stalling every 10 minutes of driving. Tech advised replacing the sensor. Solved the issue.
