Why are they so bad?
(Hard to beat that price for Tokico's on the CustomMaxima site.)

That's why they are so bad.
I checked out www.custommaxima.com and the only struts he has that fit the 2000 are Tokico.
What are the other options for the 2000?

OK...
So, we can get the Tokicos for less at Stillen (That's very hard to believe). But that doesn't help because I am not supposed to buy Tokicos, right?
Are Tokicos REALLY as bad as everyone is saying?
I just want something better than the factory set-up for my Eibach springs. I'm not going to the "track" every weekend. I don't plan on going at all, for that matter.
Where can Koni's be purchased for a 5th gen?

Stillen...
Just checked out the Stillen site... http://www.stillen.com/partsearch/Search_Results2.asp
The price is for the left and right front. Unless they throw in the back two for free, CustomMaxima's price is better.

lowest price is $460 + shipping (lifetime warrantly included)
"Konis are better than Tokicos, but what the Koni people here failed to tell all the newbies who ask questions about shocks is that the front Konis require custom installation to fit on Maximas. Basically, you need to remove the original cartridge from your stock front struts and install the Koni ones. It's not an easy task, but any good shop should have no problem with it. The catch is that if they mess up, you have no spares to install back onto your car.
I have Tokicos on mine and they seem fine. I think the Koni's are better (for the front anyways) but for me, it's not worth the hassle and extra expense of buying new shocks and then paying to get them retrofitted onto a stock housing. "

Thanks for the prompt reply WILLSE.
This forum never ceases to tell us to stay away from Stillen, due to their excessive prices. This is why I have never called them. But I am sure when I call them and drop your name, I'll get a deal! I'm no fool, so I'll give 'em a ring.
Thanks.
