Bolt size for A/C dryer?
Bolt size for A/C dryer?
Anybody have any idea what the bolt size is for the a/c dryer?
After nearly 21 years, my a/c system finally crapped out, so I'm just replacing everything - compressor, condenser, dryer, hoses, expansion valve. Since my alternator is also ~7 years old, I'm changing that out too.
Anyway, while removing the old dryer, both bolts snapped off. I was still able to knock it off the outbound tube going to the expansion valve, and don't care about the side attached to the condenser because I'm replacing that too.
Fortunately, this was the only hiccup so far, but I do need new bolts - anyone have any idea on the size?

Take the New dryer to the parts store and find one that fit it. They are typically M6x1.0 Ide guess 20mm in length. The bolts you buy don't need to be exact as they just need to snug down and hold the line flush with the dryer. The sealing is done mainly by the o-ring.
Yeah - I went to Lowe's today ad grabbed a bunch of different sized bolts. First ones I tried - M6 1.00 x 25mm seemed to fit pretty well. I have a feeling like there maybe some extra room - that the 30mm ones may have fit, but the 25mm ones snugged up pretty well - I don't think that dryer is going anywhere.
Thanks.
Thanks.
