5th gen High Pressure Power Steering Hose.
5th gen High Pressure Power Steering Hose.
looking for good recommendation for aftermarket high pressure PS hose for 2000 Maxima. OEM is probably the answer, but who knows.
I had Amazon special install and the PS pump still screaming.

I had to replace the hose twice in the last 15 years. The problem with non OEM is that some of them make a whining noise where you turn the steering wheel. My 1st replacement did that. It is noticeable if you do not have the stereo playing.
The second time I did the replacement, I used Sunsong 3401152. It does not make any noise and I got it from Rockauto. You can buy it now from Amazon for <$50.

I agree that it is a PITA to replace a power steering hose. The banjo bolt needs to be angled in a certain way to be aligned perfectly. The OEM is $225. So it comes down to how long do you want to keep a 2003 car. If you want to keep it as long as you can and you don’t want to mess with the hose again in a very long time, then go with OEM. If you don’t plan to keep the car for much longer and / or you don’t mind messing with the hose again, then go with non-OEM and save $175 for now.
