Multiple Error Codes at once.

My 5.5 Generation 2003 was running perfect yesterday.

Today I went to start it, it cranks over just fine but does not start.
I looked at the error codes with Nissan Data Scan software.

These are the codes that it returned.

P0340, CMP SEN/CIRC-B1
P0340, CMP SEN/CIRC-B1
P0335
CKP SEN/CIRCUIT P1122, ETC
FUNCTION/CIRCP 1121, ETC ACTR

Anyone know what these errors could possibly mean. collectively.
I have a feeling it's something really bad.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

crank codes, change all 3 of the crank position sensors, be glad you got the code, be glad nothing happened while driving. the 4th code is a piggy back code that will go away, and in this case i am gonna guess the last code may go away when you replace the 3 sensors

get hitachi or OEM, or you will waste your time and money

Multiple Error Codes

Thanks for he quick reply.

However. Last week there were zero error codes.

Now there are multiple. I think collectively those error codes
have a larger meaning. Like a broken timing chain.

Your thoughts ??

Research is your best friend. Download the Factory Service Manual (FSM) and start testing. Check connections to the sensors, look for damaged wires etc.

over thinking it, i had crank position sensors issues with no codes what so ever, and let me tell you they are not fun while driving.... possibly dangerous depending how you drive. i had a dealership check the status/condition of the sensors, they said looked fine.... problems still randomly persisted. it was CPS sensors.

they are random, car will be fine for a month , then not. mine eventually became more consistent of a problem.

if you never dealt with this issue or replaced them before, be glad you got a heads up with that "blip" of codes.

cam and crank sensors don't fail slowly. Theyre a work/no work only. If they work there's no faults.

Experienced the exact same thing on my 5.5 some yrs ago, replace all 3 cps and problem fixed with ONE caveat. DONT buy aftermarket, must be hitachi.

I greatly appreciate the responses that indicate to just replace all sensors, thank you.

But....I would really like to find out, what caused all these errors to thrown in the first place.

Thanks again.

It is extremely unlikely all 3 sensors failed simultaneously and you ALSO had a failure with your electronic throttle actuator. Do proper diagnostics before you start spending money on parts. Inspect wiring and grounds, check voltages at the sensors.

Thanks for the reply.
I examined the wiring harness as you instructed. I found that the three wires that went into
the green connector that attaches to the crankshaft sensor bank(2) had broken away from the connector.

I have attached a photos to illustrate. My most concerning question is.
Where do I go from here to get my Maxima back on the road. At this point it's not even starting.

Any possible remedies are greatly appreciated,

Thanks man.
You rock. That did the trick.
My Maxima is back on the road.

Only now. The odometer (RPM'S) gauge stop working.
