Need more leg room!

Hello Maxamillions,

(Edited - more searching shows me that the seatbelt mount to the body would need to be moved. I'm now researching aftermarket seats that also have a kit for fo attaching the seatbelt to the seat itself. So aftermarket seats look to be the way)

I'm stupidly tall (6-7) and while Betty the Beater is my trusted friend, I'm driving her more so I need to find more legroom. I have a leftover frame/motor from when I had a new one installed. So looking at that, it won't be as easy as drilling new holes and moving the whole seat further back. It would take welding and extension onto the front with the correct holes (probably easy) and then adding some sort of metal block in the back I recon (harder).

So plan B is to change the seat to some other seat and use a generic "sport seat" mount to see if I can get it to slide further back or maybe find an OEM non-power seat with sliders that could be reportioned?

Anyway - I did search before I posted because I'm old and not a whiny n0oB, but as you would expect, all the search results came back about the vile POS seat motor issue.

Thanks in advance....

Odd, I'm 6'7" with a 36" inseam and have no issues with driving stick in it. It's one of the few reasons I got the car, with the extra legroom.

I've had the Drivers footwell upper trim piece out for years and im 6 2. If we ever get into a front end wreck, our knees won't do well even with that trim piece. It frees up a little room though
