Does a used 2002-2003 transmission need any kind of reprogramming?
First off, it's an 02 I35 but part numbers should be identical.
Started hearing some weird noises/rattles under moderate load in 1st and 2nd. I'm draining a quart of fluid tonight to look for metal.
Do these transmissions require any kind of reprogramming? Or just a battery reset/disconnect overnight and let it idle for 15 minutes? I found one near me for $350 with 90k miles and 90 day warranty.
Also, do you have to fully drop the subframe or just loosen it? I'm reading some conflicting posts.
Thanks

Thanks, all. Glad to know a reprogram is not necessary.
A youtube video I had pulled up had it's title labeled wrong. It was actually a 2007 or something that had a much larger crossmember. He was only under the front of the car and I never saw the body except a quick pan past the front bumper where I could recognize the year.
I was at work and doubting my memory of my old 2000 versus my wife's 2002. I got under it yesterday. The center crossmember makes it a pain to get to the torque convertor bolts, but I think I can work around it to where I don't have to suspend the motor from a cherry picker and remove the center beam.
Drained some fluid. Maybe 8-12oz. Like 4-5 tiny flecks in bottom of the pan just from that little bit of fluid. I do see a couple fibers suspended in there but unknown if that was from the paper towel I wiped the pan out with. It was after dark using an LED so I'll go look at it in the sun today.
