Who's running 235/45-17 on 7" rims? Problems?

Hello all,

I'm about to buy new tires for the stock 17x7" rims on my 2000 SE and am curious how many of you are running 235/45-17 tires on these rims. Any problems? Would appreciate a comment on your driving style when you post a response as well as the brand of tire you're using. I'm looking at Kumho Ecsta 712's. Thanks in advance for the input.

Regards,

235/45/17

I am running Micheline Pilot Sport A/S. They are ridiculously better than the stock $hit. They were about $1200 with front end alignment. No problems, and they look a little "meaner" from behind.

235 tires on 17 inch wheels

I've heard not to increase tire size in the front.... Tread will wear faster and ride quality will suffer slightly (especially around town).
I am putting my new Foca F10 Wheels on next week with the factory Potenza 225/50 vr17 tires (they are awesome).
Later!

The actually size difference is literally centimeters. Although, given the HUGE gap already , you may want to consider lowering the car.

Depending upon where you live (I happen to be in Colorado), these tires perform well in all seasons. If I lived in Arizona it would be a different story.

I've got Nitto 555's 235/45 17's.

they feel great and haven't had any problems....

my stock potenza's sucked big time in the rain.....otherwise
they were cool.

yea I had Nitto Extremes on my 2k Max... actually handled great, but damn were rough riding. I'm looking at the Pilot A/S'es now.. hoping they might be a little smoother... too bad you can't try-before-you-buy-it on tires!
