power shifting 2k2 maxima

I just bought a new Maxima SE 6 Speed
Question is (being my first Maxima let alone first Japanese car);
I noticed that it is extremely easy to "double-chirp" the front tires
shifting into second.... Can this trannny take the punishment or should I consider this car like any other sedan and mellow out...
If I need to mellow, is there an alternative short throw system out there? The car runs great regardless and I never allow the rev limiter to kick in...
Concerned and will not work it until some input

My old Max held up fine to the power-shift (on occasion). This car has the cable shift instead of a rod, so there are probably some issues with the rough driving.

I have gotten a little rowdy on my 2k2 a few times. It seems to take it fine, but I do agree, if you play you pay. They put pretty weak cluthces in these cars. My old Max had an issue, and I gotta say that I am already thinking about upgrading the clutch in my new one. Hopefully this 6spd is the one from the skyline. If it is then it can handle what we can throw at it.

I wouldn't count on it. The Skyline is a RWD configuration with a AWD option. RWD cars have transmissions and FWD have transaxles which means there's quite a bit of difference in the tranny layout. I'm sure the 6 speed is a decently stout tranny just the 5 speed it replaced. The cable shifter is the only problem I see. Cable shifters are notorious for poor feel which can lead to mishifts at WOT. A miscalculated upshift 3-4 which actually winds up in 2nd could spell the end to the motor.
