2k2 i35 xenon - extra light

ok- so what's that extra little light near the Xenons on the i35? It's a 5 watt bulb that comes on with the headlights... kinda makes the light a little yellower!! Anyone know what purpose (if any) these little things do? They don't seem to throw off enough light to be useful!!

Its part of the parking lights. It comes on with the sidemarkers and the headlights are off.

IMO, the little light makes the park lights look wicked! Now I just have to rewire my fogs to come on with them...

d'oh! you're totally right. Can't believe I never noticed that before. I like the way they looked by themselves but they kinda make the Xenons look yellowish hehe... wonder if PIAA makes a superplasma in a 5watt city-light-sized bulb? hehe

im sure they do. I had some nice blue ones in there but took them out when i had to take the car in for warrentee work on the zenon and misplaced the bulbs. Let me tell you, they look really nice in there with the parkin lights on, if you can rewire the fogs it'll look alot better. trust me.

for some reason my drivers side light doesnt look aimed properly. i think its the bulb the dealer has reaimed it several times. I sometimes have a hard time seeing anythin. the pattern is really wierd. its like this
___ thats the lenght of the light
/

______ is the car and headlights. my high beams shine right enough. also there have been times when i turned on the lights and the drivers side turned on kinda redish. i dont think thats a good example.

thats what the dealer told me also, that its a safty feature. but it just doesn't seem right to me because i drove my cousins I30t and his didnt seem that bad. I'll try to go check it out again and take pics. The burner hasnt burned red in a while so maybe thats taken care of. Thanks Hogan for confirming that.

It's not that you need aimming, its a safety feature to light up the right side of the road, so you can see road signs, and further down the side of the road. As for your HID Burner turning reddish, that can be from either a defect or misuse of HID system. It's covered under warranty.

That's only part of it ... the other half is so that you don't have your lights pointing into the direction of oncoming traffic ... so you don't blind them.

There is a little tiny light that comes on with the park lights in the section where our HID's are. The light is on his last pic on his page.
Kalbundy...that does look mean! Time to go pick up my supplies.

Kingpin thanks for the compliments. it looks really nice in person, especially if i had some superwhite or bluer lights. to match with the HID's. its not that hard to rewire, if i have some time i will open up all of it and take pics for u so u know what to do. maybe this weekened.

also sorry i didnt post a direct pic, i was lazy.
