tires

I want to get 18' rims but i want to keep the speedometer close to stock. Should i get 235/50/18 or 205/55/18. I did go to tire size calculator and checked one is like 1% slower and the other is .3%slower, resectidly. Also what type of tires should i get ie. Toyo, BF Goodwrench... Please helpp quickly i am getting my rims this weekend.

I don't think you're using the tire size calculator correctly. Are you using this one?:
Miata.net Tire Size Calculator
If stock is 225/50/17, you should go with 235/40/18 (1.8% fast) or 245/40/18 (0.5% fast) to stay close. I think people with 18's generally go with those sizes.

Exactly what i got 245/40 18. Spedo is dead nuts on. Get the stickies ( Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Positions) Worth every penny!!!!

well i know wider is better but i was looking to get 225/45/18 or 225/40/18 and yes i did go to that web site i have it and a bookmark

As for tires...depends on what kind of tire life you want out of them as to which ones you get...

There have been dozens of threads that have addressed or at least mentioned this topic...

Use the 235/45 17 or something like that in the search criteria.
