Emission Test Problem.......

HELLO ALL WELL...I HAVE A FEAR IS THAT "I SEE DEAD PEOPLE"..J/K ANYWAYS, A AUTO SHOP GUY TOLD ME THAT FOR THOSE WHO REPLACE THE HIGH PERFORMANCE MUFFLERS WON'T PASS THE SMOG CHECK....BECAUSE MY BOYFRIEND HAS A 97 ACCORD AND HE NEEDS TO DO THE SMOG CHECK TO BE ABLE TO GET THE STICKER, AND HE HAS THE APEXi N1 MUFFLERS, IS THAT TRUE HE WON'T PASS THE EMISSION TEST?? OR HE IS FINE WITH IT??

depends on the state's laws.

Most states only test emmissions, in this case if you didn't remove the Cat the car will pass.

But, some states have visual or noise tests that might are subject to additional restrictions.

Ask the muffler why it will fail? and and find out the law.

Mufflers have absolutely nothing to do with reducing emissions. They "muffle" the sound of the car's exhaust. The Catalytic Converter is what will affect the "smog check" and if you don't touch them, you'll be fine.
