Auto Transmission Fix

I just got a call from my service manager about my automatic transmission. I have been complaining about this since I found out about it here on the .org. At first they said that it was within spec. I still complained and even got to drive an 02 auto. I told him that the 02 felt better. Last week I told him that I was still disappointed with the auto. He said to let him check out some stuff and he might be able to help me out. He knows I know about the TSB. Anyway, he is ordering the solenoid and TCM. He wants me to be satisified (they have actually treated me pretty well - respectful and friendly). I will get this done in about a week. I guess persistance pays off. Thanks for all the info that I've been able to glean off of this board. You guys are awesome. I probably would have just put up with it if I hadn't known. I have one question... Anyone that has had this done to their Max, did it really make a big difference? Sorry about the length, but just wanted to share my excitement.

search and check out the posts about the tranny slipping problem.. most people seem to be satisfied and noticed a difference after changing the solenoid or TCM...

as for me, my VIN # falls under the specified range listed on the tranny slipping TSB but i haven't experienced any problems YET (*knock on WOOD*)... hope everything works our for ya and keep us posted..

I heard (secondhand) that the Nissan put tranny fluid in the Max's autotrannys that is grade too low, and that the tranny slip thing is completely avoidable is a full synthetic tranny fluid is used.

Not true, sorry. I've put Redline ATF in my tranny and it didn't change anything.

I had the TCM and solenoid replaced at the same time. Shifts are more firm and responsive. You'll notice a difference.

Thanks for your replies. I think I'm going to go to synthetic when I get the transmission fixed. I've read many of the posts and this sounds like a good idea. Should save some wear and tear. Appreciate all the info here.
