[Disclaimer: I don't condone or advise anyone into street racing. It's dangerous, stupid, and there's always some idiot in a mini-van thinking they can pull out into traffic and you may end up meeting that idiot. This happens only occassionally]

Interesting race, none of which was from a dead stop but I could pull on him when we both punched it. But, there was a good opening for us to both floor it till one of us finally gave up...

He crossed an intersection and punched, after which i noticed he was punching it. I was going about 35mph when i noticed him leaving so i immediately got into it. I was in 2nd and got it going. He wasn't pulling on my throught 2nd gear. Shift to 3rd, I start to pull a bit. Top of 3rd (about 90mph) i pull on him hard (y-pipe comes into play here) and shoot past him when i shift into 4th. Mind you, his intial lead was about 2 cars. Off the line, he woulda killed me (Maxima is one hard car to launch). It was just a typical 4-dr 3series (i want to say 328). I slow down to a stop light and he inches up and the following conversation occured:
Cocky BMW Guy: "What size motor is that?"
Me: "Just your typical v6 3.0 litre."
Cocky BMW Guy: "Oh, well, this is only a 2.8 litre."
Me: "Well, it's still pretty fast."
at this point the bmw guy turns his head and lifts his nose once again. And i say to myself, "YES! I beat a BIMMER!"
