Newbies and there Questions????

Hey guys i am a Newbie to the ORG and i have a question for the guys out there who had the premium bose system in there 2k1 and put in a after market head-unit. I went to a car audio shop and i asked the guy if i needed a special wire harness because of the bose system, and he told me no you can hook it up and it will be fine, which i think is total bull, becuase from what you guys are saying i need to get the special wire adapter. so can someone help me once and for all and give me the exact details of what stuff i will need to buy for this installation, such as the special adapter, wire harness, dash kit etc. Thanks

John, From what I hear from the guys. Give crutchField a call.. They are pretty good at that stuff. Also when you purchase a Harness and Kit from them, they have a step by step instruction sheet that tells you how to take your dash apart. You should be able to do this yourself and not have to pay anyone to put it in for you. If you need help just post we'll help you out.

What kinda Radio are you trying to put in?? Takeing the dash out isn't hard, just need to keep your eyes open and be careful..

Cool I appreciate the help.

I was thinking about putting in the Sony CDX-M620, I really like the radio and its features, i also like the way it tucks itself away so that no one can see it. I think i found the Special Harness that i need maybe you can tell me if this is it. Thanks

i personally don't like SONy HU's that much. I am more of a KENWOOD guy. I have a KDC-9015, once the car is off you cannot see it. But that just me. Also i dislike the HU's that in the day light, you cannot see whats on the screen.....I changed all the speakers, so i dont know about the adapter. But if u really are gonna change the BOSE HU, change the speakers as well. Get some 2 or 3 way 6.5's, or seperated(coaxils) you will like how they sound much better
