i just got back from a race run.......pulled out passport 8500 tector
found my boy in that s4. i asked him what he did to his car ( i already knew) he said he upgraded his turbo and did exhaust/air intake..... crock of .... his gal and mine stepped out of the cars and we went head on down the strip at a new high school........
off the line i pulled away then after 40 he started pulling......
i backed off........ he ended up 3 car lenghts ahead...... i got out of the car and said i was impressed
I asked if we could swap cars and then race; he said no of course
then i asked if i could respect his car and try again- he chuckled
and then it was on....
my gal played green light and we took off... this time i flipped my switch and it was awesome! his car was swaying as i pulled away with my upgrade. i let off the throttle then punched it again as he approached- and left him sadly; i spent $678.00 he spent $4500.00
then again, i have a new car and he has a used bratwusrt...
he mentioned that his brother has a 2k2 m3 that i should race;he was very impressed but said i would lose since his car gets pulled harder than mine... told him that i had my jet set at 45hp boost and the variable is set to 75.
my car is going into our shop for timing and various upgrades; after my costs vs his bro? i can still buy another max
my car has 1244 miles and plan to make it a project and money is no issue since my harley puts out 133 hp with a weight of 495 ilbs
yes i am an extremist but needed revenge....period

it don't sound correct that u pulled off the line. he probably ain't do a real high side step(5000rpms s4). either way good job . now go and show that new m3 what u are made of.

i see no way for just a nos max to beat a turbo upgraded s4 with other mods to it = to near 5 g's. definitily not off the line. but don't stress me, i'm just sayin how i feel about what u said but i wasn't there. so we got to go with what u say right now. maybe that 45 shot really just doin a good job

 

thats what im saying... doesnt a stock S4 run mid 5's 0-60? i dont see how he could keep up with even a stock s4 even with a 75 shot of NOS... plus he should be the one with the traction problem... remember were the front wheel drive non locking differential cars as opposed to the s4 which has all wheel drive...

C'mon now, s-4's aren't that quick. They cut great 60 ft's but loose their steam on the big end. They only trap in the 96mph range stock. I go to the track with a guy that has about $15,000 in mods:exhaust, turbo's, chip, and it runs mid 12's,on 103 unleaded no less, but at only at 107 mph. That's all launch right there. Race a stock one on a roll, and you'll kill em'

 

I live in a snobby region of Connecticut which is like Bimmer and Audi country. S4's launch like a scalded cats because of the AWD and because they make so much torque downlow. It's when things get moving that the AWD and 3,700 lbs. of heft start to set in. I raced one from a dead dig and although he put a pretty big gap on me right away I was creeping on him around 60ish-110. I'd go out on a limb and say that a nicely modded 2k2+ Max could walk an S4 from a roll.

 

when you run at the 'new high school' that they dont give you a time slip like the track. That way RT and 60ft and the whole believability issue wouldnt be a problem. Most school zones need christmas trees....

Now let's analyze modifcations to the vehicles. The claim was that the Audi driver spent $4500 in modifications to his car, including turbos and exhaust:

chip $428
new computer $700
exhaust $1200
I don't know what the extra $1700 was spent on, but the above modifications alone add anywhere between 80 and 100 horses. Assuming that any modifications to the turbos resulted in a positive horsepower gain, we're now talking that this guy's S4 should be running around 360 horses.

Maxima claims to have spent $678 on a 45 shot of NOS, bringing the total horses up to a cool 300.

With all that being said, could someone please explain exactly how it is that the Maxima won that race unless there was either a)horrible Audi driver that forgot where his gas pedal was, b)mechanical failure on the Audi, or c)the Audi driver lied.

 

ROTFLMAO!!!!! C'mon guys, I know Vin Diesel is such a positive role model (look at his great movie career...F&F, F&F II, XXX), but racing in school zones is so freaking ghey. Well, street racing is ghey anways, but particularly in freaking residential or school zones. You know, everytime I read one of these 'I killed an S4', 'Showed an M5 my tails', or 'WRXs aint about sh**' I wonder why I've never seen this type of behavior repeated at a legitimate drag strip. Oh I know why....because street racers dont like to drag race at the strip because than their is a little thing called a time slip to show who won, not just some 17 year old sideways hat wearing memory. I'll admit it, I've punched it on the highway against some fellow .org members, but it was never more than a few seconds and I dont turn school zones into the filming grounds for F&F II. I've made close to I'd guess 200 runs at the drag strip since I've been driving and let me tell you, if you want to know whose car is faster, that is the most accurate way to tell. It is amusing to see the ricers who bring their flashy Civics and what not that claim to kill all sorts of high powered cars run 17s consistently and than complain 'it was too hot', 'the track sucks', 'the timing lights are off', 'I missed a gear'.

S4's i've seen at the track were running 14.4's. I am still at 14.8 @98. I don't know whats up with my et or my trap speed. 98 is really high. Got decent traction off the line too. the drag strip is about an hour from me, so anytime anybody i know wants to race, i say, "What are you doin this weekend?" I've been popped twice for dragging in detroit and i payed a lot of money to have a lawyer get me out of the tickets. Yes.....occasionaly late at night or on the freeway, i'll race a couple people. But thats from a roll and not for more than 20 sec.
