I actually beat the guy. We were both at about 130. They suck left nut. Someone please explain. Oh yeah, notice that trans am is not capitalized. He didn't earn it.

What year was the Trans Am? Newer? Older?
They range from "beatable by 4-banger Accord's (170HP in 1990) to almost untouchable (310HP today). They progressed steadily in power through the last decade too.

ok here we go with T/A's and camaros again. Anything pre-98 you can beat from a roll no-prob. at any speed. This post is for the 5-spd guys. You auto guys need some mods. The older LT1...not LS1 are the ones you can beat. You can usually tell by the way the taillights are made. The older ones do not have the "honeycomb look to the light covers. also older trans-ams have quad tips out the back. The newer ones only have two.

I owned a 94 LT1 Z28 auto with a weak 2.73 gear. It ran 13.9@100mph stock and ran 13.39@104mph with a chip, exhaust, and intake.

Re: Re: 8 cylinder trans ams suck on the E-way
Your car did not run a 13.9 stock. Yes i know cause i used to own a 94 formula LT1 6-spd. With 4.10 gears, intake, exhaust, hypertech, thermostat, cooling fan switches, and a B%m ripper shifter I only ran mid to low 13's. That would have been a good time for the LS1, but not the LT1. I'm used to SEEING at the track a 93-97 LT1 powered f-body with an auto running somewhere between 14.90 and 14.60. The 6-spd versions running usually between 14.60 and 14.40. LS1 powered vehicles run in auto form WITHOUT Ws6 is right around 14.10 and 13.90, with sticks running between 14 flat and 13.80's. WS6 versions mostly run between 13.70, and 13.50. Yes, I do tend to know this since i have seen countless numbers of these cars run on track. And they can't ALL be ****ty drivers.

Maybe you should try racing a LT1 or LS1 Fbody.
And whoever said a 00-01 Maxima 5spd will beat a LT1 without any problems needs to be kicked in his head.
LT1 were high 13s, low 14 sec cars.
LS1 are low 13s to mid 13s.
00-01 Maximas 5spds are high 14s, low 15s.
Let's keep it somewhat realistic.

Off the line i know i would get spanked, but i talked to the owner of the 600hp Gold Rush Trans Am and he stated that i could probably take a few Trans Ams cuz they are ratioed for low end torque. I agreed. I know this is one of those one time things. But i am gonna ride it out to the end. No did the TA's, I'm just proud of my little Max.
20th maxstyle,
What year TA did you race?
Foglght,
Your numbers seem off by much more than a bit. If you copy and paste your post in LS1.com they will all laugh!!! At what altitude are these cars running at? See below:

When my 1999 Camaro SS was new and stock except for a Whisper lid, it would run consistent 13.70s @ 101-102 mph. This was at my local drag strip which is about 1000' above sea level.
1/4 - 13.49 @ 103.44 2001 Camaro SS
My 02 Z28 M6 13.85 @ 103 with 400 miles
3rd (with a after market lid and stock filter)
60ft 2.284
1/8 8.8.62
mph 83.61
1/4 13.635
mph 102.95

so this one right here the automatic lt1 version with 2.73 gears funning 14.42@98 that wasn't like yours at all was it? My numbers aren't off. Yes, some cars are just quicker from the factory, but thats all GM crap. I could get a lot more crap to show you, but it won't do any good. Like I said when you weren't paying attention, you cann't take one out of the hole. You will probably beat or pull slightly from a roll in high first or mid second around 4k rpm.
suck it!

2.2 60s? Hahahhha I've done better in my honda on street tires (and much worst as well).
I'm sticking to my original remarks.

Altitude, air density, track conditions and temperature can change times greatly but I feel the majority of M6 LS1s run 13.2-13.7s maybe add .1-.2 for an A4 if anything because they are easier to launch.
Regardless a Maxima won't kill a LS1 at any speed unless greatly modded.
My 2 cents
