side lights

how do you take off the side blinker lights on a 2000 maxima?

are you referring to the amber spear on the side of the front bumper? if you are you can find more detailed instructions in your owner's manual, but all you need is to wrap the tip of a flat-head screw driver with a soft cloth and pop out the lens.

Do you want to take off the bulb or the whole plastic cover.. if you just want to change the bulb open the hood up and go right behind the bulb rotate it and switch the bulb.

Blinker? So, the blinkers are not on the side of the car...if you're referring to the blinkers on the front, you open the hood and will find the back of the wiring harness which can be twisted and pulled out to replace the bulb...this is pretty straight forward.

If you mean the side markers (which do not blink), check out the photographs in these instructions (wow...giving Russ credit...it hurts, but I'm doing it anyway):
