strut bar question

i installed the strut bar, the one on the GD. after installing it i can feel that the hood takes a little more force to shut it all the way. also i noticed there is a small area that looks raised between the spray nozzles. the nozzles work fine. i am just worried if i leave it like that, if it will mess up the hood. like make a permanent bump on it ...
is it normal that the hood requires more force to shut after installing the strut bar??

Absolutley not.I would say there is a problem. My buddy had one on his 2000 and no such thing happened.I would take it off quick before you need a new hood or cause further damage.

Well I don't know which bar was on the GD but I have stillen bar in my max and have no closing problems, nor do I see a raised area. You should probably take it off - sounds like a problem.

Re: strut bar question

Hey, have you tried tightening the bar first? You have two bolts on each end, turn it a couple of times so that the bar becomes shorter but not too short.

We have the same exact bar and i don't have a problem closing the hood at all.
