To those leasing...
Have anyone else in Texas with a 2k2 (or 2k1 as well, I suppose) recieved a Texas Personal Property Tax Exemption on Leased Vehicles Form?
Most of it's pretty straightforward, but I got to the box asking me for the Empty Weight of the vehicle.
Down at the bottom, there is a note saying "If the empty weight of the leased vehicle exceeds 9,000 pounds, the vehicle does not qualify for this exemption."
Huh?
Damn, man...it's a Maxima, not an Excursion with the optional second floor added!
9,000 pounds. Yeesh.
Seriously, does anyone know the empty weight for the 2002 Max?

Maybe they think you have multiple cars? hehehe
Anyway, not sure if curb weight means the same thing. But:
Manual (GXE/SE/GLE) - na/3224/na
Auto (GXE/SE/GLE) - 3218/3261/3275

I don't live in TX so this doesn't apply to me, but when they refer to weights like 9,000 pounds... it is usually Gross Vehicle Weight. That is the car's total weight with fuel, maximum number of passengers and maximum luggage capacity. That would put the Max in the 4300 pound range.
Just my $.02.
