Clear Bra

Hey guys, i know the subject of clear bra has been covered a lot here on the org. i know i want one for my MAX however having very difficult time locating an installer. I live in KY. and have checked numerous places only to be told " yes we have heard of that stuff but have not started dealing in it yet" If anyone knows of a installer in Lexington or Louisville or anywhere in Ky. would you please pass this info along. My 2K2 has a couple of chips with only 2K miles and would really like to get this stuff installed on my Max. Thanks in advance for any help.

If your considering only the hood piece, do the work yourself. It's very easy. I have some picts of my car with the bra installed.

I puchased my bra from www.xpel.com.

I've found a couple of places in Cincinnati (about 100 miles north of Louisville) but they want anywhere from $500 - $700 bucks for the job. So intead, I bought the kit from Xpel and will be doing the install myself.

Installation

I posted this earlier, but here it is again.

After inspecting my 02 SE bumper and beginning to observe the infamous Nissan "chips" already beginning to multiply, I purchased an "invisible bra" kit from www.xpel.com. I put it on myself yesterday.

I purchased the hood and bumper kit along with the headlight protection and some specific tools. It came to @$425. X-pel has very specific instructions that I found well written. Anyone doing this themselves should be "completely" familiar with them before beginning.

For the most part the project came out very good. The hood protection is easy because it is relatively flat and the precut material is easy to handle. The front bumper was another story.

Because of the shape of the front bumper the cut of the material is not easy to handle. An extra set of hands is highly recommended. I got very frustrated at times but never gave up and kept working with it and in the end it came out really good. I ended up with a couple small bubbles and a few specks of dirt got under it. But you really have to get down and inspect it to see them. From a few feet away you don't even know it's there.

The headlight/foglight kit was very easy to install and is "invisible".

Admittedly, I came close to throwing in the towel when working on the bumper. I actually did give up on the mirrors; those are an art in themselves due to the curvature.

My advice would be to begin with the hood to get some experience before moving on. And I highly recommend having a handy helper with you when you run into trouble.
