Valentine one question

I just purchased a Valentine one radar detector about a week ago and I have a qustion hopefully some other V1 owners could help me with.

I live in NJ and on Rt. 80 they just put up those digital trafic information signs. When I get within a 1/4 mile of these signs, my V1 goes ballistic detecting laser with no donut brigade memebers anywhere to be seen. It happens almost everytime I pass one. Does this happen to anyone else with a V1?

Thanks,

Jet

I think you're referring to the offer placed by radar jammer companies (i.e. "The Phazer"). I have a V1 and as far as I know, there Valentine extends no promise to repay ticket costs.

As a side note, I seriously doubt that those Radar and Laser jammers actually work. Even if they do work, they would be highly illegal because they're not FCC licensed.

There are two types if jammers, active and passsive. Active jammers actually work, but are banned by the FCC. The one he is referring to is a passive jammer, and doesn't do shlt

Those signs have a radar gun built into them. Did you ever pass by one of them and it says "Speed Limit 25.....Your Speed is 45". Well that radar gun displays your speed when the sign is set to do that. I have a valentine too and it always goes off at those signs. By the way my buddy told me that and he is a state trooper.

These are the signs that display traffic info, not your spead. When I pass the infor signs, I nailed big time by laser, not radar. I'm just wondering if the digital display will shoot off enough light to set off the laser detection.

Valentine one does not offer to pay for any tickets one may receive using the V1. I just about looked at every web page V1 has and not mention of that at all.

You are right. The VAST majority of RADAR jammers don't work. Out of the few that do, this is how they are "banned". You can buy them, you just can't use them. The way that works is that police departments are licensed by the FCC to use RADAR. If you use a RADAR jammer that interferes with police RADAR, then you violating a federal law that says licensed departments have a right to use RADAR without interference. It would be similar to you standing outside your favorite radio station with a radio jammer, interfering with the station's radio waves.

LIDAR (laser) is not protected by the FCC and many companies offer LIDAR jammers and are not illegal.

True, Laser is not protected by the FCC because it is light rays. FYI However, Laser jammers just do not work.
