Auto with mods???????

I have a 2001 se automatic. I want place racing cold air intake a y-pipe and a high flow cat. Can anyone tell me what kind of gains to expect, and where to get these for the best price. Is it worth putting these mods on an auto? I will put on an exhuast if it won't make it to loud.

just get a YPIPE and an intake other then that everything is useless unless you wanna be someserious racer. Those two mods are good for daily driving

Excellent suggestions. That is what I did, got reasonable gains. Did lots of research. Read dynos from other on the org, intake gain was eight hp, y-pipe was twelve hp gain. Lots of members in the past got litle to no hp gain with aftermarket mufflers or custom pipes and mufflers. The best anyone had gotten in the past was five hp gain, definitely not worth it. The most common result was a really noisy muffler, no thanks. Hope this helps.

Last but not least, the ultimate Mod, a standard transmission that those of us with autos don"t have. Better bet that my next Nissan will be powered by a stick-shift.

I know the intake makes a little 'hissing' type noise when its sucking air, but how about the y-pipe. I've read in some previous threads that there's a certain sound over stock that is heard. Is this true. If so.... what kind of sound?

What about the UD Pulley. I always thought that it was a good mod too; am I wrong. I have a 2k1 Auto also, but from what i've read the 3 mods are intake, y-pipe and UD pulley. I would recommend you get the Frankencar intake, Stillen y-pipe and Unorthodox UD pulley. Besides that not much else is out there that gives any gains. Maybe wait and see if Stillen does in fact come out with the headers for the Maxima's and then order the header/y-pipe combo for around $700 or maybe more...lets hope not though. Anyways those are the mods I would recommend. Good luck.

I suggest y-pipe, udp, CAI, and valve body mod
I raced another Max who had high flow cat, udp and CAI, and I would win by 1 to 1 1/2 cars in 2 blocks. The high flow cat, b-pipe and muffler would not make too much difference unless u r going forced-induction or nitrous. Good luck!
