interesting... early VQ35s and engine light
My cousin has a Pathfinder with a 3.5L. They could not keep the engine light from coming on (from new). After 6 months of the light coming on ever week, they had to replace the engine! After new ECUs and tons of other things, they finally decided she had a casting flaw. I vaguely remember a 2k2 max owner having a casting flaw too. I also vaguely remember reading about them having to strengthen something in the cast recently. dunno.. food for thought.
She wasnt really happy about being without her pf all that time (they did offer the subcompact rental :/ ). Of course, she said they fought her on buying back the truck. It's complicated and I dont know the details, but she was not a satisfied customer. She seems happy now with the new engine.. no more lights, runs great.. just lost 6 months of use.

They should have been making her payments.
