Problem with my car after raising the idle time..
The other day I raised my idle time to 900 rpms.
Now, During high speeds(50mph & up), whenever I ease off the or let go of the accelerator, I can feel the car gradually downshifting..
It wasn't like this before I raised my idle..
Also, When I ever I come to a full stop, I feel a slight thunk coming from the tranny, kinda like engine breaking.. (Don't know if that makes sense!!..) I thought it was my brakes at first but it kept happening everytime I came to a full stop... I think it's the gears shifting into neutral or something.. It's really weird and it's making me nervous..
Has Anyone had similiar problems or know what could be wrong??... I tried lowering the idle time back but the dam nut is stuck and it wont budge...

Re: Re: Problem with my car after raising the idle time..
I kinda noticed that.. Check Engine light came finally came on. After continous frustration and effort, LoL...!, I got it back down to normal I think... Well atleast the problem is gone...
I unplugged the battery to reset the ecu 2...
Ahh well, my car was running better at 900rpm idle..
Now, I'd like to thank everyone for being so helpful... Errr..
Just one question if anyone is willing to answer.. What is the normal idle speed??...

I think mine idles around 750rpms. Also, doesn't a 900rpm idle create more heat to your TC when your car is in drive at a stoplight?

The advantage is faster launch in the 1/4 mile..
I'm not too sure about the tc overheating but it does sound logical. Maybe I was feeling the TC locking/unlocking everytime it downshifted.. The extensive heat just intesified the shifts... I aint no car expert and I learned my lesson.. Time for a tranny cooler???
One more question.. Let's say this incident was indeed a tranny problem... Why did the check engine light come on???
I know the check engine lights up regardless whether it's a tranny or engine problem.. I just wanna know if there is a sensor that detects tranny malfunctions...
