rims.. uh ohhh muh bads

alright bryan and pioneer... i got a price quote on the rims in taiwan. i'm going for 18's i dont' feel like messing my rim up over some lousy pot hole.. the rim of choice is made by ACE.. i dind't know it was MIT. the price of each rim is NT7,500 each. which is equivelent to 996 for a set of four U.S. is it worth it?? that's not including tires.. the model number is A151. i love the color. it'll match my car for sure..it's nickle.. SWEEEEET hahahaah. now i don't need to powder coat the rims. so is it worth it? i'm thinkin' to run 265mm instead of the turbo set up 275mm if my offset is 35mm the wheel should be flush with the fender right? and it shouldn't rub inside the wheel well when i make a u turn rite???? they said i'm better off getting tires in america since it's imported in taiwan. (tax is real high on import goods) well please help me out..
shoot i just checked on their website. they only have them in 43mm offset, and they only come in 7.5 wide... **** me off.. i'mnot sure if i can get what i want here in taiwan tho.. the factory is here, they toldme to call back on monday.. no one is working on sundays here. the only alright rims i know that are made in taiwan so far is ACE.they said i'm better off getting rims in america if i want import rims, ie. borbet, mo mo, stuff not MIT..

pioneer, how much did you get your borbets for?? they look nice..

first off all sorry I didn't read your post.. i've been away from the BBS for 2 days. just been in bed sick.. Ok as far as the rims go. 18x7.5.. I don't think U R gonna be able to get 265 on this rim. U need about 8.5 to 9inch. for that. but the rims look familer. I'll look tomorrow, I think there is a company that makes rims like this. I don't remember right now, brain is still a sleep from the Nyquill. My borbets were $1350 from tirerack with tires, lugs, locks.. done deal. go to http://www.discounttiredirect.com and check out the MIM raceing MAS rim. Someone had that on their maxima.. tell me what U think about those.. that would've been my other choise but O well. I'm happpy with the borbets. $1000 for a set of the rims U got here sounds OK for 18z.. tires would be another story. I got bridgeStone RE-730.. so far no problems. I plan to keep it that way for some time

Ok mingo

I'm back. did some research. I think this rim matches to what U got there. 5 Spoke isnted of the 6 but still looks very close.. http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Displ...t+Silver+Paint
these things are expensive though.. also check out the new MODA R6.. that one is 19x8 but the tire recommended is 235/35 so don't know if thats good news or not. good luck

nice

thanx again pioneer. i only liked the ACE wheels that i posted because of the nickle finish it had and the price. if i were to look for another wheel i'de want a deep dish. i guess i'm set on 18" tires would be cheaper and i'll run a lower risk of messing up my rims over some pot hole. i wanted something that looked like a three peice but not exactly a three peice because of the price. the only other rim that i liked was the f-1 cup from OZ but the eibach maxima was already rolling on them.. sorry i'm real picky.. but thanx alot for your help. i forgot to call the rim place to see if they had the set up i had in mind. if they did than i'm gonna get it. thanx.

or...

White rims...if you have a white max. Yes, it does deminish the "luxury" aspect of the maxima and brings it into the sporty look.

No bad at all. Now U need to drop that baby a bit. man the white max is still the best looking to me. I need to lower my car a bit too. Now KEV Need to put some slick rims on that maxima of his and that'll make it by far the best looking 5th GEN on the forum. well based on what I've seen. Comon KEV THE STOCKERS GOTTA GO. its holding up the show..

You can help me out by getting new rims for me. I'll probably get new rims when I need new tires. I'm almost at 24K... when do we need new tires?

BTW, thanks for the compliment!

tires

yeah that was my Original plan too, get whole sets of wheels and tires instead of just new tires for the stocks. u need new tires when they blow... haha just check the inner edge of your tire to see if you still have tread. if no then get new ones.. ikno u kno this already.. or slickout your tires at the runs... get fifty billion people to hold your car back while you burn out.. hahaha

maaaaaaaaan my sig..

I don't know Kev. depends on how U drive. but the RE-92 should go about 30K but I won't expect more out of those. I wish I had the money to Donate Rims to U. hahaha But then again I can Use that $1400 and put mods on my car and then Mine would be the best looking on the forum.

Aren't you getting a new set anyways Daniel? I still have tread, but that tread can go out pretty fast if needed. 30K sounds reasonable, which is about 4 more months for me... how does a late Chrismas present sound to you guys?!?!? C'mon guys, I need all the help I can get!

What else are you doing to your car Pioneer?

Hmm it might not be good for the Max, since it's FWD so wider deep dish at rear only slows it down.
supposely MHT Guan is pretty cheap, it's a copy of the Blitz type03.

when I come back, I'm gonna lower it, put a Y-Pipe, Exaust and see what else can be done. Don't know if I wanna go with the body kit b/c I know I'm not gonna keep this car too long, so I wanna put parts I can take off later..

kevin..

yeah, i'll get a new set now if they have the rim to spec i wanted in taiwan. they'll just be tiny stools in my room without tires until ineed tires i'll mount them and slap em' on the car. because i know if i had the tires on the, i'de slap them on and just put my stocks on the side with still tread left in them.. i also like the volcano from OZ those look somewhat sporty as well as classy.. they deep dish too. he he.. i knwo that deep dish or wider wheels on the rear of the max are gonna slow the car down, but i'm in no hurry. it shouldn't kill the gas milleage that bad will it? anyone wan me to post the pic of the volcano??
