That car's engine is hurting or that camcorder needs a new mic ... that did not sound good at all when the hood was up. That metal on metal whine can't be good ... bad bearing, loose rings, bad turbo ball bearing (if equiped), etc. ... you pick. Regardless of the choise, it can't be very good. Hopefully this guy was smart enough to lower the compression to run moderate boost (6-12psi) or is smart enough to know that if he didn't, he shouldn't exceed 6 psi.

i am very seriously getting a turbo on my car this summer. i only have so much money so im wondering if i should get a body kit and forego the turbo or get the turbo done sometime this summer. i think im going to go with the turbo. 90% chance that this will be done.

Modifications

I don't see the battery in the engine bay. Did you have to move it to the trunk or somewhere else? Did you have to move anything else?

For whoever suggested using a T4, I doubt it would fit correctly. Am I right or wrong?

Re: Modifications

hey guys, flame away at my ideas ...

twin turboing the 2k2 maxima seems possible if you turn the engine around 90 degrees and install the stillen short ram intake.. This then provides 2 things
the stillen intake will be sucking air directly from the gap in the hood
and the engine will be mounted in a way that negates the use of a y pipe so dual catalytic converters with equal length headers is possible...

then this just leaves the small problem of where to mount the turbos... but you will have the engine alligned for twin turboing.

Ummm, you can't turn the engine. If you turned it 90 degrees, it would be configured for RWD. So I don't know what you are talking about.

how do u mean configured for rwd? ... i figure that honda accord v6 engines have the cylinder banks facing each wheel well, whereas nissan mounts the 3.5 liter transversally on the maxima.

Jer, I've had my L10 tranny stage 3 for 5 months, and no problems here

As for TT set up, its not all that easy, but it can be done. Two T3/T4s could be set up. Can always have a T25 spool from the rear bank, Hobbs switch allowing T3/T4 or T04(If so inclined) to flow.
Get great response low end and high end.

In the end, who cares ?

Acura Legends 91-96 had engines that were longitudily installed(RWD) but were FWD.

I suspect people will do a fair bit of flaming. Unless you are doing a RWD conversion I don't see how this is going to happen. Very few cars have a longitudinally mounted engine that are FWD. You're talking about a custom tranny and the works.

This has been in the 4th Gen forum for some time now. This guy recently had the turbo tuned near 9 psi and is putting 340+ hp and torque at the wheels. Don't know the exact numbers.

That's actually my car in the movie! You can see the dyno results in the 4th gen forum. It dynoed at 352 HP and 549 ft-lbs at the wheels at 9.3 psi. The results were not very accurate because of my slipping clutch.

The results are here:

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....5&pagenumber=2

I am wondering if this will fit a 5th gen. Anyone know the differences in the enginebay area between 4th and 5th gen?

Interesting that the video made it on to Maximaproduct.com without my knowledge.
