It replaces the CAT not the y-pipe.

Your emissions levels will be higher(not good for the environment) and you won't pass a smog check with it.

You will have to replace it for inspection/smog checks.

I still argue that your NOT going to pass a smog check WITH a RT cat, so why spend $200+ on it.

Ok, it's slightly better on the environment, but how much is the question.

 

I got my Y & RT Cat put on not too long ago. Getting a smog test in Sept. Hopefully I pass I hear if ya leave the car running for like 15 min before you smog test it's all good?

 

I've heard that, but I don't think enough people have tried to know for sure.

yeah, supposedly the RT Cat's supposed to pass smogs.

You won't be able to see or tell.

Only a sniffer will be able to tell.
