Got Strobes for the maxima

I recently got the Whelen POLICE strobe kit for my Maxima, since Im going to be an Auxilary State Trooper soon, I figure I needed some warning lights for the maxima, (amber/clear), since I'll have duties.

All in All I paid $210 for them , and got 4 strobe heads and a 6 output power supply.

I had to drill extra holes next to the turn signals to allow the strobe lights to wedge in, they are about 1 inch in diameter and bright as HELL! I'll use the lights during shows, and in case of emergency on the highway when im not in the crusier. (its legal if its an emergency off the road and is not red or blue lights, and doesnt impede traffic).

just goto www.strobesnmore.com police and troopers down here get them from Louis (http://www.strobesnmore.com), Troopers down here have to buy their own strobes for the crusiers, only the light bar is standard

Oh man were you ripped-off. For what you paid, you should of gotten so much more. Sirennet.com has a much better selection than the site you got it from, plus I know someone that works at Whelen in CT, and I could get you much better prices on kits. I have 8-strobes in my 2k1 (I am a Volunteer FF) and LEDs all over the place.

I want to put about 10+ strobes in my car.Not the cheap joints, the bright ones like police have all white. How much am I looking at? Where is the best place to get them? I want them in my headlights, foglights, reverselights, cornerlights, and a few inside.

MAN! I KNEW LOWER PRICES WOULD SURFACE
But I also paid extra to have it shipped overnight, along with dashmisers, so it was pretty heavy, I got my SPS660CCC whelens for $179.99 plus an extra charge for overnight shipping.

I WOULD LIKE A FEW MORE STROBE HEADS,
CAN YOU GET SOME LOW PRICED ONES FOR MY WHELEN SYSTEM?

so far i can get extra strobe heads for $15.99 from whelen

I just had my strobes installed like two weeks ago. I bought the Sho-me kit. total of 8 bulbs.. There pretty bright. Wanna hear something funny, I flashed someone who was driving like a slow **** on the left lane. I guess they thought I was a copy and started to pull all the way to the right lane like I was gonna pull them over. He almost hit my friend on the other lane

This is what I would do:
A) Make sure you're going to have at least 1" of drilling room in each of those housings
B) Makes sure you have more than $300 in your banking account for the equipment alone
C) Learn how to install them, or get ready to shell out another $300+ for the installation

10+ strobes in my opinion will make the car look gaudy and won't look official. You'll just blind everyone and look silly

I have the same Whelen kit the other guy bought but I also have the 2k2 HID's and I'm not drilling holes in those $1400 lights to put strobes in. I have em installed in the tail-lights and I bought some cheap foglights, put the front strobe bulbs in those and mounted em in the front grille! I also have room for another 2 bulbs with my kit and I want to put them in the fog-lights! But as you guys know, the fogs are encased in metal so you cant drill a hole in those to put strobes in the fogs! Anyone successfully installed strobes in their fogs yet?

They are illegal for civilian usage. But you can use them in some States legally if your car is parked (Ex: At a car show, etc.). I think the law is while the car is not in motion.

Yeah Man...

Whelen is the best and the bightest way to go. Sorry but pics wont do strobes any justice and I'm still on 56k so no movies either...just take my word for it. I paid $200 for the Whelen kit but if you can find em for cheaper, go for it. They're the best lights I've seen so far and the kit allows you to hook up six bulbs...definately worth it.

Just check your local state statutes, in FL any flashing lights on a non-emergency vechicle except for turn signals/brake lamps, are illegal when on a public highway, you can have flashing amber for private licensed security vehicles, you can use them OFF-ROAD off of public highway systems regulated by state laws, which are like at shows etc. and away from facing traffic, which may hinder the flow of traffic (ie. having too bright of strobe effect).

NO BLUE OR RED IN FRONT, unless police, fire, medical.
NO White, Amber in front unless, utility vechicle, construction, law enf.

in FL Most people if found in motion with strobes like the whelens etc. and are bright enough to disrupt the flow of traffic on a non emergency vechicle usually gets a "impersonating a police officer" offense, which is a felony, or If your lucky you get a moving violation, which is most likely the case with AMBER.

As a volunteer Police Road Patroller, the white/amber can be used if accident hazards present themselves while not in the city crusier, we're trained to handle scenes of T/A's.
