Do you like this wheel?

ADR RS Limited Nengan in 17x7.0 , not sure if these are made in 17x7.5.

http://whalentire.com/wheeldetail.cf...10H42S&size=17

how would this one look on my sunlit sand max?

Another one I'm considering, Enkei RS5 in 17"..

It looks nice and kind of like the ACE Manta. I think a 4th genner has the Mantas on his car. I like the Mantas better since they look a little cleaner. Check them out...maybe you'll like them too. Just my 2 cents.

I agree, if you have stock 17's keep em. Two things from personal experiance: 1)Rims that are recessed like thoes look smaller when they are on the car, im trying to say that a 17" where the spokes are flush with the lip visually look bigger to me on the car as opesed to ones where the spokes join in the middle of the rim 2) you will end up wanting a bigger rim then 7"s wide, after a wile you will wish you could pay an extra 200bux and have wider wheels and tires.

you didnt read my sign. I have a GXE with a mere 15" and hubcaps. I am not looking JUST for an upgrade, otherwise I'd have bought some OEM 16's. BTW these ADRs are also offered in 18"s but then I'd have to shell out $250 more.

I have a budget of about 1100-1200 and am actively looking for a set that would like good on my car...given it is of sunlit sand color. Any help is appreciated.

thanks, even the hints on the kind of design also helps me a lot. BTW I just called whalentire.com, the wheel I posted above (ADR Nengan) is not made in 17x7.0 so definitely, I'm not going with it. Now leaning towards Enkei RS6, Enkei RS9, and there are some nice rims on tireracck.com that look exactly like Mille Miglia Spider..A bit on the heavy side, 21-23 lb/rim..what do you guys think? Or f*** everything and go with Konig Subzeros, they are light, cheap, and have some custom look in them..

This has been a real pain in the ***, I have even lost 3 lbs of weight... getting together over a 6-pack with my boyz tonite to decide on the rims.

Honestly I would go with whatever rims you pick but get them in 18"...Trust me when I tell you that 17 looks small on Maxes unless the rims are like another .org mbr said that the spokes meet with the edge of the rim kinda like the stock 2k + up rims..just my $.02 so you dont regret later...check out my car, it has 18" rims and sometimes I want 19"

I understand you are on a limited budget but try and save for 18's. Take it from all the stock 17 owners on the org, a 7 inch wide rim sucks, if you have to buy 17's at least get 17 X 7.5. Good luck man.

thanks guys-that is right, I am getting only 17x7.5 or 18x7.5(8.0).

As far as limiting only to 18"s that is very cost-prohibitive, because there's always a better rim, its easy to step over the boundaries. I have set a limit of 1200, and that is it.

Only a few 18"s I can buy for my dough, but I never rode in a car equipped with 17"s or 18"s to see the difference. I want to enjoy my car on the hwy not sure if 235x40R18 can give me that.

If I go with 17"s I know that I have a better selection of rims, ride quality wont be sacrificed yet firm, and replacement tires will run 100-150 bucks cheaper.

Please, if you come across a package that in your opinion, looks good on my sunlit sand, and within my budget, give me a holla.

mille miglia evo's are nice as hell.
they look nicer in silver than chrome too.
(silver is cheaper, and i believe within your budget).

cwally on the org as them on his car. they are sweet as hell.

check it out:

17s aren't that bad. but yeah, stick to rims where the lip isn't so deep. with 18s your cost for tires will increase as well and even more of a sacrifice in ride quality.
if you stick with an upgrade to 17, get at 7.5 or 8" width for better tire selection.
either way, you're a lot better off than 15 steel.

I've looked into 17" Mille Miglia Evos with 235x45R17 Kumho WRs is 1230 shipped to my door. I tell you, these Evos are heavy as a bi**h, like 23-24lb/17" rim.

I have another option from tirerack.com: little-known Italian-made Sport Edition Tekno 18x8 22 lb/rim. They look great and may resemble a more expensive two-piece wheels...Set of Teknos with tires comes out the same as Evos...help

I like those wheels also. I was just worried the weight of the rims. They also compliment Max very well. I like this one.

order placed, with Kumho 712 tires. They are indeed 23 lb/rim but that is lighter than stock 17"s so I'll be OK. I didnt like the other rim because it wouldn't look as good from the distance.
