600 miles and I ALREADY HAVE PAINT CHIPS

I'm so mad, I just checked the front end today as I've been doing daily since i've gotten the car, and I noticed two small paint chips on my hood. Very noticable however as I have a dark colored car. I am going to try some touch-up paint tomorrow and hope that it wont be too noticable. Hopefully the clear bra I'm getting installed on monday will obscure it a bit as well. This is absolutely rediculous, inspecting the chips more closely, it looks like there's only one layer of very thin paint under a thinner layer of clear. THIS SUCKS what a lame place to get cheap on an otherwise great car.

I urge everyone to register on www.nissanpaint.com it'll only take 5 minutes of your time. NISSAN NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING DAMMIT.

Ok, so I bought some touchup paint today at pep boys. Nissan parts was closed so I couldn't get any OEM nissan paint (not that it's good anyway) but I found a pretty good match on the shelf.. ironically, honda paint. I followed the directions I got off a web site, and used toothpicks and layered on thin coats in 30 minute intervals. Turned out surprisingly well.. I think the gray lustre helps. I'm going to polish and buff it tomorrow to get rid of any uneveness before my clear bra goes on and imortalizes it.

Charlie, I'm going to get my clear bra done tomorrow at my house.. getting tint done on the same day with Malik. Call MaxedBandit for my number I'll see if the guy can hook you up on the bra. $350 for the full kit.

I have the same problem. Part of me feels better, cuz I'm not the only one. The other part of me is ****ed at Nissan for such a crappy paint job. I've got the 'superblack' color especially because the color was so nice.

I'm taking it to a guy this week to have the chips painted for $150. I'm also having the clear 'bra' put on the hood (3M material, widely available lots of places apparently), as well on the headlights ($200). And then I'm putting teflon on the whole shebang. They tell me it will help keep the shine and the paint in tip-top condition (another $150).

ANY OPINIONS ON USING TEFLON??

I should mention that the guy I spoke to said I either have a crappy paint job or the sheetmetal underneath it is very strong. Because I have some large chips (1/4 across), but no small dents! Lucky me.
