I am new to the list here and dont intend to pis anyone off here.
I don't own a maxima but that doesn't mean I hate them or anything like that.
I am working on my new project which is a 12 sec jetta vr6.
My old jetta was a automatic and in stock form went 16.4@86mph.
With all the mods i did to the car I was able to reach 13.20@105mph.
My new jetta is a 5 speed and has recently had its 1st day at the track.
The results were pretty good 15.4@90mph.
I will post new times here when the car is done.

What mods have you done and what's on the drawing board on your way to 12s?

Guy want's 12's. We give him 12's. First off. I would start off with suspension mods, especially in a VW. Second cross drilled brakes. And third NOS never hurt.

So, if you dont have a Maxima, one is not welcome on this board? What if one viewed this board as a source for info before purchase? Or, one is just curious?

I belong to numerous internet boards, most of which I do not own a car for. So what? This is all just for fun! Lets face it....none of us race Maximas for a living! If we did, we'd all be broke! They are not race cars. In fact, 99% of the Maxima owners dont do a lick of their own work and have very little idea of whats going on under the hood. Ill also bet that many of the "fakes" have alot faster cars than any of us "real" owners, if that type of comparison is wished to be made. Again...so what? I enjoy my Maxima for what it is!

This board should be a source for info with no restriction. Maybe certain topics belong in certain areas. But, degrading members only degrades the overall group and is juvenile.

No offense towards anyone here....just stating what I think is true.

Guys this is kinda good and bad at the same time. I've been around the forum for a few years. Times when stillen only made stuff for Nissans to now when he does pritty much everything for other cars and not give the maxima folks much attention. but anyhow, haveing new people come and joke around is Ok but its our jobs to keep it under control. I'ld get pissed too if a honda or somone came on the forum and started talking smak about the maxima. But I speak the truth, and I speak facts not B/S. if a car is truly fast and can produce the #z the person is talking about then Ok I can accept that, but if the guy is telling me a Geo Metro goes 0-60 4flat, Humm I might have to see where that came from. But again us as Maxima owners, if the person posting is cool and wants to know some information, Sure why not, but if the person got an Id just so he/she can post BS on the forum then I don't have a problem putting the damn guy in his place. I don't go to other peoples forum and talk smak. Would U like someone to come to your house and say Damn it stinks, Same here, if U don't like it, don't comment.

Oh one more thing, YO-ITS-OK 7hrz on a Head Job. Damn I bet the **** was pritty much useless then wasn't it

 

I agree wholeheartedly. It depends on one's motivation.

 

Well for the record, I was exaggerating SOME of my comment. It does suck being in a lower class of surfers though
(newbie). I know one day I too can have/earn the upper status of ....... I also thought Sam was a keeper, not a castaway. As far as the help you need with the car.

1) If you did not live so far away, I would help as long as you got beer and wings.
2) I hope your finished by now.
