Question about fuel cap on 2002 SE..
Everytime, especially during the winter, I get fuel and I notice that area near the gas cap is all dirty and in sand. Where is that crap comming from?
I remember reading the post on the board about that Nissan forgot to put some plastic cover that goes under wheel well.
Anybody has gotten that fixed on 2002 Maxima?
Thanks.

I had the same problem with my 2k1. Some people went back to nissan and they put some kind of plug behind the actual wall to keep debris from coming up. I work at an auto parts store so I just took these small rubber stoppers and plugged the overfill holes around the cap and I have had no problem. They are in the help section at any advance, I will swing you a part number if you want it.
Nope it is not fixed in 2002. I looked under the wheel well and the there is no protecting thingy that would not let the dirt get to the fuel cap..
Did anybody got it fixed? what was the thing called that the dealer installed?
Thanks.
