TSB; Applied VINS

Could anybody tell me how to match my VIN number against those specified in TSB. First 8 positions of my VIN number match but the rest does not.
Also, same thing with the engine number...
What are the rules when they say "made before those VINS..."?

Which TSB in particular?

Since VIN's are sequential within a year/model/etc, the TSB's provide the 'prefix' of the numbers, knowing that individual car identification follows those VIN codes...

The TSB about spark detonation (pinging) noise.
I have one for years already

Now I found TSB, but don't know if my VIN # applies...
Please, help

Interesting....

I would say, if you are actually having the engine problem, take the TSB printout to the dealer anyway...

I know my VIN does not fit within the A31 or D91 group, but were it to act up, I would be at the dealer with TSB in hand right away!
