Hi folks....this is my first post.

I have a Y2K I30. When I went to leave the house this am, I noticed a crack in the windshield. This crack starts at the top by the moulding and runs halfway down towards the center. Was not there last night. I have a house and park in my garage. No one could have thrown anything at it. There is evidence of "chipping" at the top where the crack originates. The crack appears to be in the outer layer only.

Is there any history of windshield problems with the Y2K Max or I30?
The car is leased so I like to make a warranty claim if possible. How much do these cost to replace>

Your insurance probably will replace it for free.

 

Nothing is free! You claim, they raise.

You could try to get it replaced under waranty, if there is no chip evidence, which is not your case. They will probably say "Normal wear and tear"

When your lease is up, show them the waranty evaluation which says that the damage is "Normal wear and tear". (though I doubt it will work, it would be nice!)
