Need help on engine oil leak
alright guys....I have been observing this for quite a while...
all meter readings were done at cold engine
last oil change
-filled 4qt of oil
-meter reads at the top line of the operational range
3000 miles later - oil change
-meter reads at 1/3 of operational range
-empty out old oil - about 3qt plus.
hmmm...what happened to that one qt minus? got burned off? I know I am not a light foot driver..but 1 qt minus sounds a bit scary. should I do a oil content test?
thx for the help

well...
1 qt @ 3000 miles is within spec to Nissan. Mine doesnt use any oil, but others have mentioned that theirs does. That doesnt mean anything is wrong or that it will get worse. But if you think something might be wrong, get a free kit and send your old off to Blackstone Labs ($18 to analyze)

Re: well...
thx Tim....so burning off 1 qt per 3000 miles is normal per Nissan spec? Cause from what I have heard that it shouldnt have any burnoff engine oil in such a new engine. I know couple toyotas dont have this kinda situation.
thx for ur help
