Wrap the flex section with thermal wrap (exhaust wrap)... the stuff you see going across the engine bay leading to the throttle body

and that will stop or reduce the noise. Also I have been hearing that cattman y-pipe has a problem with the flex section on there y-pipe. If I run around that problem couldn't I just take it to a muffler shop and get a new one on or do it right from the start.

Yup it'll stop the noise. If you buy new from Cattman, the flex section shouldn't be a concern anymore (he has fixed the problem).

Summit Racing has them. Yes, you can find them at an automotive specialty store.

Why did you wrap your pressure piping in thermal wrap? Was it to keep the engine heat from getting the air in the piping hotter?

Can't you paint that wrapping or get it in a better color, cuz it kind of clashes with the black, silver, red motif of your engine and whatnot....

Yeah, it doesn't look too attractive.

I didn't think the flex problem was fixed yet. Did you hear this from Brian Catts, or another thread? Thanks!

theis is what it says on there website

Cattman Y-pipes outrank the performance benefits of any other bolt-on modification, featuring T-304 stainless steel and TIG-welded strength, including the Microflex interlock-lined flex coupling. Maximize performance w/ a Cattman high flow intake. Bolts in like stock unit, no other modifications are necessary.
1995-2001 Y-pipes eliminate factory-installed “pre-cats” and are not intended for use on public roads or highways. Primary catalytic converter remains in place and functioning normally.

I know he won't be selling defective pipes, unless he ships out the new flex section with it so you can fix it (which wouldn't be right).

Check the sticky thread in the General forum for warranty issues.

Hey Y2Kevse

I live in MN you know where it snows, Will the exhaust wrap be ok for up here due to salt. Also since I am not getting a response for the chrome gauge rings how much do I have to grind off to put them on since you have them thought I would ask you.

Well, no where does it say that the problem has been fixed. Am I missing something? I emailed Brian and still haven't heard back.
