hey what's up guyz - i was actually wondering, what's the top speed a stock 2002 nissan maxima can hit?

its still under debate. i dont think anyone knows for sure. i think its somewhere in the 140s. i personally got mine up to 137 (on the speedo) but i had to shut down.

i think emax told me about someone testing it with their GPS but i cant find the post.

no, thank god. i hit the deer on the same road though. just about a week later.

 

I topped mine at 138mph before the cut-off now if Nissan has allowed to 2k2 Rev/Speed limiter to go higher with the added muscle it can probably hit 150mph on a really good day and going down a really steep hill! other wise 140s definately. hell stock Evos do 170mph

 

I think you can remove the revv and speed limiter with the Apex RSM.

 

2k2 Auto - 147mph
2k2 6sp - 155mph

and those aren't on the speedo, they are calculated by GPS

 

not meaning to say you're wrong or anything but, how do you know this?

 

there was this guy here liek a few months ago, he was like a mathematics genuis, he figured out through his calculations and sh*t....and he was correct

I would agree with the number for the 6spd. I had mine up to 240 km/h(149.1 mph) before I let off, on my way to Ottawa a couple of weekends ago. An Audi All-road came flying up behind me as I was doing about 140 km/h. I pulled off to the right, he came up beside me and we both stood on it. I was about 8-9 car lengths ahead of him by about 220 km/h and I let off at 240 km/h, but the car was still pulling hard. I knew I'd trash the All-road, but I didn't realize that it'd be by that much. I look up the specs on it when I got to Ottawa and saw it tops out at 137 mph and is just under 7 sec 0-60, so it wasn't such a big shock when I saw that stuff. Nice for a SUV alternative, though.

I've compared my speedo to the GPS up to 160 km/h and it is dead on, I will have to do a comparison some time at a higher speed to see if it retains the accuracy.
