New to the scene....

Just wanted to say wassup to everyone. Me and my girl got rid of the 99 GXE and traded it in for a pearl white 2002 SE due to ignition coil problems. Anyways just wanted to say that I'm very impressed with it, I love the way the car handles. So far I haven't done nothing with it other than tint the windows. Can anyone direct me in the right direction for a perfomance muffler and cone filter type? Thanks is return

Welcome to the org and congrats on the new ride. The two most popular intakes and Frankencar and Berk Tuning (both are cone intakes that bypass stock intake).

I have the Frankencar intake and I love it. Big difference in power. Click on my homepage for pics.

Welcome to the org!

Re: New to the scene....

I'm new to the scene too, but have spent a lot of time researching this site for cool, useful stuff.

I recently bought and installed the Berk intake. All the debates on this site seems to sway toward the Frankencar intake, but the Berk was the better value for me. I do feel more power on the top end, but not really sure I've lost power on the low end. The sound is SWEET at WOT.

There's a few interesting threads that addresses the difference between several types of intakes. Do a search and find out what's best for you.

I don't know much about muffler or y-pipes yet, but will continue to research.....

The mod bug has bitten me...

Congrats to you and your girl. As for your inkling on a muffler set up and intake, I hear FrankenCar is very popular with the 2K2's, Also Berk Tuning, and as for mufflers i hear the HKS rear section is pretty good also GReddy Evo is pretty cool, Theres also Cattman as well. Theres many many many many choices, just like the many many many many paint chips you will see in our weak stock paint
