One year report

Well, after a whole year of driving, and spending over $1400 in fuel alone, here is what my 2K1 Max has given me:

Fuel economy: Avg 25.3 mpg (Max 30.1, Min 22.6)
Miles driven: 23121 Miles
Average premium fuel price: $1.58/gal (Max $2.14, Min $1.28)
Changed to K&N Filter at 10000 miles (cleaned 2 times since then)
Started using synthetic oil at 5000 miles (average changing interval is about 4000 miles)

The Max has given me a lot of enjoyment driving it, but it has also annoyed me endlessly because of the little squeaks and rattles. Overall, it's a good car and I think I would buy another Max if given the chance.

You're getting very good gas mileage. You must do alot of highway driving. I'm only getting 22 mpg with mostly non-highway miles.
My 2K1 does not have any squeaks or rattles but I'm annoyed with the wind noise and the rock chips. Are you experiencing any of these problems also?

That's a pretty thorough breakdown. I'm only getting 20 mpg driving 50/hwy, 50/city. I need to learn how to slow down within reasonable speeds. I avg 80 mph on the highway, I know that's not stoopid fast but if I slowed down to at least 70, my mpg should go up alot.

Yep...it's mostly highway miles. Lots and lots of paint chips. Wind noise and road noise is bad too. It's just how it's designed, I guess. Sooner or later, I'll probably dynamat the doors and probably the floor also.

Yeah, I'm keeping track of all the fuel that goes into the Max. It's interesting to see how cleaning the K&N helps to boost economy (economy goes up right after filter cleaning)...it shows that the air filter doesn't seem to have too much capacity to hold dirt before it starts to restict.

Raaaaaaaattle!

Actually one rattle (faint) but noticeable to me!!!! The garage monkeys at Nissan service can't locate it. It is by the glovebox area.

Other than that.......quiet!
