2k2 Maxima Se Monthly Payments?

Is $750.00 a month for 60 months a good deal on a maxima. It would be a SE with everything, NAV, HLSD, BOSE, MERIDIAN, MOONROOF. That is a deal my friend was offered. I need to know if it is good from someone that knows math a little better than me. To me it comes out to be a lot of money, but i'm not sure what the interest rate is.

Ouch! I could lease an 02 BMW 525 for less than that.

Um...No. Do the math!! 45K for a Max is pretty steep. Go to a credit union and get a better interest rate than 24%..

That would translate to $45,000. How can that possibly even be considered a good deal. Thats paying almost half the price of the car in interest. Terrible price, sounds way off to me.

Whooaa...It sounds like it's too much.

$750.00 X 60 month is $45K. I know this includes intrest, but I've read a few threads and it seems people in here were able to get a fully loaded (w/navi) for around $30K. $15K of interest is a lot!

Bad deal man.
I pay $700/mo for my fully loaded 2k SE; it's a 36 month loan at 7%. If you have something like a 60 month loan, it should be closer to $400/mo.

No way! $750 a month is outrageous! A fully load maxima se at invoice is around 29,000 (this means every option). That means you friend would be paying close to 19% interest. Unless he filed for bankruptcy, or the amount financed is signfincantly greater (due to being significantly upside down on your old car loan)than 29,000 there is no way he/she should be paying that much.

With good credit, no money down, somewhere $500-550 is the most i can see.

If that was at 7% interest what would the total for the car be on that loan.

Just to give you an idea i pay $324 a month for 60 months and i paid 26,000 for my car including all taxes tags and extended warranty and i put down $10 g's which roughly comes up to around $29,000 give or take a few $ so sounds like to me your % rate is like over 15% interest which is terrible i pay 6.25 which could be a little better but i don't have much credit so go figure

I put $500.00 down...period...and had a $564 loan I recent refi'ed to less than $500..the overall effect being a 66 month loan...which I plan on prepaying anyway...

I paid around $26,500 for mine before tax, tag and title. I put 4 g's
down. My monthly payments are about $450 a month for 60 months. $750/month is astronomical. Horrible...

$0 down ('94 Max in trade), $519/month (Includes 100,000 mile warranty and a maintenance agreement where my oil changes are covered for the next 5 years or 60,000 miles). Term with 9.9% interest is 72 months.

DUDE

I can't believe you even asked that question!

Do the math man, that is ridiculous.

Go the carpoint.com and play with the monthly payment calculator.

I can't believe the dealer would take someone(your friend) as that stupid enough to even think about that deal.

This is nonsense.

I pay $337.95 on a 60mo lease with a buyout of 10k when I'm done. You'd be paying double, but you'd own it...I think after 5 years I'd probably end up buying it out and then selling it anyhow. $750 sounds a little high to me.....

I know what happened. Ypu probably went to the dealer and asked the dealer how much is the car. And the dealer without being a fool, asked you what kind of payments can you afford. To sum it up- use the carpoint.com as your research tool, negotiate heavily. Gee you can buy a condominium for 750/mo

Ouch

I pay $275/mo for a 3yr lease with $0 down, it's a GXE though. 7 and change makes me cringe.

Auto loan calculators are your friend.

http://www.bankamerica.com/tools/auto_payment.html

Plug in $28,000 @ 20.5% for 5 years and you get $749.64 a month. Ouch!

I'd recommend fighting for the 3 year at .9%(isn't Nissan offering something like this?) and paying $788.62 a month. This way, when the new Maxima comes out you'll have some equity. Good chance you won't be "upside down" on your loan too.

Dude, before I got my current 2K2 SE, I was looking at a Super Black SE loaded with everything except navi and they were going to charge me $579/month for 72 months without any additional warranties or maintenance contracts. That is with 9.9% interest, my trade in, and the $1000 rebate.

yep..
I'm now paying 747/mo. on 36 mo./0.9% for my new GLE. I almost had the cash to buy outright but at 0.9% I can make money leaving money in the bank or CD even at a measly 2%+ return...

If the loan length is 60 months and the interest rate is 7% and his monthly payment is $750, my calculator figures that the princple would be $37,876.50. That doesn't sound like a good deal. Sounds like the dealer is tacking on some dealer crap (special polishing, extended warranty, undercoating, blah, blah,). Need to find out WTF they are up to!!! Unbelievable!!

Here you go, zero down 0.9 interest rate 821.00 a month 36 months equals
29556 loan
2K2 GLE loaded no nav

Now I had the cash the hole time so it is in the bank makeing 4.0 percent interest rate

That is how you make your money work for you

If he does go through with it, tell him I have some prime property for him in the Florida Everglades. Slighty wet, but I'll through in the Crocodiles at no charge.

I'm not trying to flame, but man. The fact that you have to ask this question means he isn't shopping around. Unless he has had one hell of a bankrupcy or something he shouldn't be paying that high of a rate.

Yikes! Don't do it 01BLKMaximaSE. Are you sure that is the correct monthly payment? I paid $750/month for my first house! Put more money down or keep your '01. There should not be that much interest on a car loan. I'm paying $350/month for 60 months and @3.9% there will be only $1600 in interest over the 60 months.

The simple solution is to pay for the entire car up front.... No payments required.

monthly note

5 years...$625/month BUT I traded my 01 for the 02, put no money down, and rolled a couple grand negative equity into the deal. I was paying $587 for my 01, again, 5 years with nothing down.

My 6 spd SE is loaded with everything except HLSD; sticker was right @ $32k...was a auto show circuit car...maybe you even saw it!!
