Need help decing which shocks to buy.

Please people, I need help deciding which to buy. I have H&R's on stock, and well, I want a little stiffer ride. Not to many choices. Anything Im not thinking about?

I have Eibachs & Tokicos right now. As far as i know, people on the .org have Tokicos, KYB AGX's Adjustables (4th gen modded for 5th gen), or GC's (GroundControl Coilovers). Hope that helps you.

a lot of ppl having problem with tokicos is because the spring they use is too stiff. tokico combo with near stock spring should be ok. IMO

I have progress with tokico and thats probably the hardest spring they make... and i've had no problems so far.. It says on the package for tokico's that its made hard for very stiff springs so I doubt that is the problem.. poor installation might be the cause because if done right there should be no problems

Progress Springs are not that stiff.
Tokico Shocks are not suited for truly stiff springs.
Eibach and Tokico Combo is good cause the first inch of travel is very forgiving since its a progressive rate spring, but if you hit enough bumps, you will blow the Tokicos, honestly it just can't handle it. Tires will also make a difference since I've noticed the wider the tire, the less abusive the ride.

-Peace

Only because you can adjust to soft or hard ride. You can take the family out and give them a almost lincoln ride with the lowest settings and they would hardly feel a bump and when you wanna do you street ******** you can tight her up to a higher setting. After i got Tokicos from shox.com then cattman came out with the modded agx, otherwise i would have never bought Tokicos to begin with, but am not sayign that they are not good. they are damn good, it's just that you cannot adjust anything. i had tokicos on my x car also.

I paid $450 plus a few xtra bucks for the dust boots. They are ok, except i was ticked off that they didn't fully explained that the Eibachs would not fit correctly over the rear shocks and what you have to do, but i had called and they explained over the phone and i did and it worked. The front ones are modded and then they painted the bottom in black. I must say the price is kinda high, but it worth it on your max.

i did bought the 4th gen strut mount, but it didn't work and got busted on me making a knocking noise on my front strut(left), so i ordered from the dealer a pair of 5th gen ones and trim off half cm off the spindles and then i reinstall. i still have the original strut mounts, just in case i have to put on back factory if i ever wanna sell my car. about the ride? yeah it rides stiff if you tight it up all the way, but i like the lower settings like 2 in the front and 3 in the rear, feels nice for me, not too stiff or too soft.

the 5th gen mounts from nissan is $70 bucks a pair, i paid that in my area. when i say soft handles the road smooth like a town car if you want or handles like a race car if you want. 8 settings in the rear and 4 in the front.

when i say mount, i'm talking about the part that you have to machine off half cm off on the spindle. the go on top of the strut. you can see them from in the hood of your car.

Thats expensive. Cause, I dont want to kill my stock stuff. I most likely will go that way. How much trouble, if any will I have with my H&R's? I will most likley order at the end of this month. Does it matter whicg dust boots I use? How reliable for other cars are these Shocks?

well you can use the dust booths made for the AGX or you can reuse the stock ones if they are good. Both fit different, so i stay with factory style and kept my factory boots. some people would take off one ring on each, but i didn't and have no prob so far.
