Toyo T1-S vs Potenza RE-92

OK, this is interesting. I just went up to the Toyo web site and according to their specs, the Proxes T1-S comes in size 215/50R17. I understand that the T1-S is 10mm narrower than the OEM tires. But if the T1-S is as good a performer as some here indicate, would it be worth considering as a replacement for the RE-92s.

BTW, the specs for the T1-S all check out. The load factor is 91, the rim width range is 6.0" to 7.5", and the speedo error is only 1.3%. The tires run around $182.00 at 1010tires.com.

For about $20 more per tire you could get the Z-rated MPS A/S and still have a 225/50 tire.

OK. Treadepot.com has the T1-S in size 215/50R17 for $152.00 per tire. Check out:

http://www.treadepot.com/td.c/orders/index.html

They also carry the Pirelli P6000 in 225/50R17 for $112.00 per tire! I called Treadepot.com and made certain that they actually have that size in stock, as neither Pirelli nor Tirerack.com list it on their web sites.

I had forgotten about the P6000. I believe thats a summer tire though right? I think tirerack.com used to carry it and the treadwear was horrible. But I'm sure it sticks like glue. I guess the T1-2 would be the best buy.
