New 03 Maxima
Has anybody seen pictures of the new 03 Max yet? I'm wondering what it will look like and what kind of engine it will have. I'm thinking it will have alot of changes and increased power to seperate it from the Altima. The Max has alaways been the Nissan Flagship so I'm anxious to see it! Anybody got any info?

Jesus! This is getting old! The 04 Max, not the 03, will get a facelift and an engine. The Nissan rep for Southern Colorado explained to me that mouths are shut but with a dentist approval( and a new Harley from my dealership)count on a 2004 model.
The max is in jeopardy of the Altima's advance to a new market share.
Most are buying the 2.5 4 cyl. They will use this unit to sell more Nissans! Honda/Toyota will counter by then. The Max will debut with a 3.5 260hp version and the V8 as an option( not a big seller)and pricing will be over 33k to start.I feel the Max is on it's way out.
The Euro people who own a majority share feel the same and the Infinity division will take over the $33k plus share!
Just my thoughts

From everyhing I've heard and been able to read, it does sound like the changes to the 2k3 will just be trim/etc, called the "Titanium" package. I personally believe this theory...doubting that Nissan would risk stealing any of the 350Z's thunder by launching a new Maxima the same year.

Here's the link to a couple of pics BrianV caught of a possible sighting of the 6th Gen. Maxima being tested on the streets in California.

just my opinion, but i really dont like the way that the supposed 6th gen. looks. a lot of people feel that the looks of the current 5th gen are an acquired taste (not for me, i liked it almost immediately), but it seems like the 6th gen will be harder to swallow.

Does anyone else notice the slight TAILFINS on this car?!? There is no chance that I'd be caught DEAD in a car with tailfins.
Also, can anyone tell me why in the hell can't Nissan design a car with a back end that isn't so ugly it scares the neighborhood kids away. Consider all the recent Nissan-built ugly-butt cars:
1) Our own Max - the last 2 generations (fess up, guys - we know its true. It's improved somewhat by the addition of a spoiler). The 3rd generation in my opinion looked the best - simple, clean lines and a no-nonsence back end.
2) The current generation Sentra. It's a great performing car from what I understand but with those damned droopy-looking tail lights. What were they thinking? The rest of the car looks good; sort of like a mini Max.
3) The old J30. Another @ss-end that scares the kids and makes the dogs growl, yipp, and run away. Prime example of car stylist gone mad (or smoking weed).
